These brackets are meant to serve as attachment spots for horizontal and/or vertical lengths of angle iron or aluminum channel that will form a grid to which the individual solar panels can then be mounted. These photos show the bracket and its installation through the top rim of the interlocking aluminum shingles made by the Aluminium Shingle Company.
